Fuel Your Body: Busting Common Diet Myths

What you eat can dramatically impact how you feel and perform. Unfortunately, there are a lot of

misconceptions floating around about healthy eating. Let's clear up some common diet myths and help you fuel your body right.

Myth #1: Working out on an empty stomach is best.

Truth: Your body needs fuel to perform. Imagine trying to run a marathon without gas for your car! Eating a light snack before your workout, like a banana or a handful of nuts, can give you the energy you need to power through.

Myth #2: Energy bars and drinks are all you need.

Truth: While convenient, these products often lack the essential nutrients found in whole foods. Fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins provide a much better balance of vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

The road to health and fitness

Walking towards health and fitness is not really the hard job that everybody seems to think it is. When you really think about it, the hard part is often the start. Afterward, everything else will be easier once you really get the hang of it. All it takes is discipline and commitment.

Below are some tips on how to get a head start on your road to health and fitness. Read each one and you’ll realize that it is actually easier to undertake. You just need to take the first few steps.

1. Start small If your favorite dish is something that your doctor asked you to avoid, there is no sense in skipping it altogether and then binging on the dish when you can’t take the abstinence anymore. Take moderate steps towards the goal. If you eat the dish every day, try to cut down on your consumption and make it just three times a week. IF you have managed that, cut down further and make it once a week. That way, you are able to still enjoy the food and not increase your craving for it.

2. Plan modestly Set goals for yourself but that does not mean that you have to kill yourself to get it and when you don’t you’ll also kill yourself. Setting too high goals will often only lead to disappointment and frustration. When you plan, make sure that you can do it. How will you know? Be realistic. You know what you are capable of. It is better to set goals for yourself that you know you can do. Accomplishing them will give you a sense of achievement that will make you more confident and more willing to continue with your task.

7 Easy Steps To Healthy Weight Loss

Today more than ever there is so much information out there on losing weight that is has become very
confusing and sometimes difficult to follow. It’s actually very easy to lose weight if you follow my 7 principles.

1. Before you can start any diet program you need to be in the right frame of mind. If you do not feel good about yourself you probably will not want to choose healthy foods. You cannot expect the act of going on a diet to make you feel better about yourself. The only way you can choose to eat a healthy diet to lose weight is if you have a positive self-image.

2. Learn more about who your ancestors were. If you eat more like your ancestors you will be eating food that is better for your body. You will likely lose weight, have more energy and feel great. It has been shown when a group of people stop eating the food that was indigenous to them they start gaining weight and having health problems.

3. Eat whole foods that are as natural as possible. When you eat whole foods that are full of nutrients your body will know how much to eat and how much not to eat. You do not have to count calories because your body is a wonderful machine. If given the right nutrients you will be at the best weight for you, have plenty of energy and feel great. Eating highly processed empty calorie foods will cause your body to always be hungry because it’s trying to get the nutrients it needs.
